Power Where It Counts: High-Pressure Drill Air Delivered for WA Operations

High-Pressure Drill Air Delivered for WA Operations. A case study.

Industry: Mining

The Challenge

A Western Australian drill contractor required a high-pressure, high-flow compressed air solution capable of performing reliably in demanding drilling conditions. The compressor needed to deliver consistent output for deep drilling applications, withstand harsh operating environments, and provide long-term reliability with minimal downtime. Durability, fuel efficiency, and warranty support were key considerations in the equipment selection.

The Solution

Pneumatic Engineering supplied an ELGi PG 1500s-400 skid-mounted drill compressor, delivering 1500 cfm at 400 psi. The unit was selected for its proven performance in tough drilling applications and its ability to operate efficiently under sustained high loads.

Powered by a Cummins KTTA 19C turbo diesel engine, the compressor provides strong, reliable output while maintaining low fuel consumption. The skid-mounted configuration offers stability and ease of integration into the contractor’s operations, making it well suited to remote and rugged WA sites. The package is supported by ELGi’s best-in-class warranty, offering five years or 10,000 hours on the air end for added peace of mind.

Results

The contractor now operates a powerful, reliable drill compressor designed to perform in challenging conditions. The solution delivers faster penetration rates, consistent high-pressure air, and dependable operation, supporting productivity and reducing operational risk. This project highlights Pneumatic Engineering’s capability to supply heavy-duty compressed air solutions tailored to Western Australia’s drilling and mining environments.
